2nd Place General News: “City eviction to tent”

Jim Crevistion, left and friend David Martinez place a couch from Crevistion's living room inside a tent they set up in anticipation of having to leave their rental home because of condition created by a failed septic system. Marcy Crevistion follows behind them. The city later in the day condemned the home and the couple planned to temporarily live in the tent.

Judges’ comments for the category

Great catch in turning a routine assignment into something more for the first and second place winners. It was nice to find humor in a sad situation in the second place winner. We liked the quiet tension in the third place photo, though we wish the girl in the center was not part of the frame.
