| Pictures taken | Entry Period |

| Sep—Nov | Dec 1—15 |
| Dec—Feb | Mar 1—15 |
| Mar—May | Jun 1—15 |
| Jun—Aug | Sep 1—15 |
Each student may enter a total of twelve (12) entries each quarter. If more are entered, all for that quarter will be disqualified. Entries can be in any category or combination of categories.
Each entry must be the work of a single photographer. If two or more combine to produce a single layout, each must submit only his / her work.
Individual photos from layouts may be entered separately in another category but count as a separate entry.
Each student entering the SQCC each month will receive 2 points for entering the contest. Winners will receive 50 points for first, 40 points for second and thirty (30) points for third. No ties or honorable mentions. The student accumulating the most points for the period of September through August will be named NPPA Student Photographer of the Year, providing he had shown versatility by winning in at least two categories during the contest year.
The SQCC rules rely on the honesty of the participants. Any abuse of trust will not be tolerated and will result in suspension of NPPA membership for a period of time to be determined by the student's regional chair.
