LOS ANGELES, CA (December 15, 2008) – To help photographers meet the new federal law that requires media workers who are doing reporting while standing on federally-funded highways wear highly-visible safety vests, the Press Photographers Association of Greater Los Angeles is selling a vest.
PPAGLA board member and NPPA member Bob Riha Jr. wants NPPA members to be aware of their vest, and he can be contacted for additional information.
The PPAGLA's vest is $40 for members and $50 for non-members.
At the Rockford Register Star in northeastern Illinois, members of the photography department have had a little fun with the safety vest requirements by making a vest "fashion show" video that's now landed on YouTube.
