PhotoShelter Launches SEO Cookbook For Photography Web Sites

NEW YORK, NY (June 24, 2009) – As a follow-up to their earlier image buyer survey about what photography buyers look for, as well as dislike, about photographers' Web sites, PhotoShelter has now launched a free online "cookbook" about how make a photo Web site take advantage of search technology and analytical tools.

"The basic point here is that you can't just have a Web site and expect to benefit from it - you need to harness the power of Google to drive new visitors to your Web site," PhotoShelter vice president of marketing Andrew Fingerman said.

Fingerman wants NPPA members to know that the new resource is a "comprehensive set of resources designed to educate photographers on everything they need to know to get their Web sites found by Google." The SEO (search engine optimization) kit is free and it can apply to any photography site, not just ones provided by PhotoShelter.

"This has created a fantastic source of knowledge for us to share with photographers - and we are doing so via webinars, contributed articles, and some live presentations," Fingerman said.

PhotoShelter is planning webinars that will educate photographers about why an understanding of search engine technology is important to those who are trying to run an online photography business and illustrate some specific tactics, and a session on how to apply Google analytics to photography Web sites.

The free kit from PhotoShelter is online here.
