DURHAM, NC (August 13, 2009) – At the annual NPPA board meeting in June the organization's Policies and Procedures were updated, and changes were made to the bylaws that restructure the future make-up of the board. NPPA's national secretary Denise McGill has now posted the updated documents online for all members to review. The Policies and Procedures are online here, and the updated bylaws are online here.
In the next step in the restructuring of NPPA's board, nominations are now being accepted for members of the national Board of Directors through August 31. As part of major changes in the governance structure, six board members are now elected at large from across the country. For more information, members can contact McGill via eMail at secretary@nppa.org.
Also, NPPA's odd numbered Regions are now taking nominations for Regional and Associated chairs. These are new offices meant to support the community in each Region; these officers no longer will attend the newly-restructured annual board meeting, all of their efforts will go to the local community. For more information on these positions please contact the current Regional leaders or send eMail to McGill at secretary@nppa.org. Nominations are being accepted through August 31.
