Lauren Greenfield Leaves VII Photo Agency
NEW YORK, NY (September 1, 2009) – Photojournalist Lauren Greenfield has left the VII photo agency effective today, CEO Stephen Mayes announced, to pursue her own endeavors. Greenfield joined VII in 2002.
Greenfield will reportedly be joining forces with her husband, the former VII managing director Frank Evers, in a new production company. She won widespread recognition for her feature-length HBO film THIN, a documentary film – accompanied by a photographic essay – about the treatment of girls' eating disorders in a Florida residential center. The movie premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2006 was nominated for an 2007 Emmy Award.
The photojournalist and filmmaker graduated from Harvard in 1987 and interned at National Geographic before freelancing for most of the world's major magazines. She and Evers live in Venice, CA, with their two sons.
VII agency now consists of Marcus Bleasdale, Ron Haviv, Antonin Kratochvil, Gary Knight, Joachim Ladefoged, Christopher Morris, James Natchwey, Franco Pagetti, Stephanie Sinclair, John Stanmeyer, and the estate of Alexandra Boulat. Eugene Richards left the VII agency in 2008.
