Greg Kahn Wins 2008 NPPA Monthly News Clip Contest

DURHAM, NC (November 20, 2009) – Greg Kahn, a staff photographer with the Naples Daily News, has won the 2008 NPPA Monthly News Clip Contest title.

This is the first year a MNCC National Photographer of the Year has been named, MNCC contest chair Denny Simmons said, "although we're pretty sure photographers have been keeping track of these points for decades, now it's official."

Simmons said Kahn showed a wide diversity in his five wins over the year, including two wins in the Feature/Multiple category, a second place in both Sports and Spot News, and a third place in Illustration. Kahn, who finished on top with 200 points, will receive a plaque from NPPA for his win.

"While winning competitions isn't the only mark of a great photojournalist, it's an honor to receive the recognition from your peers from across the industry, and it's also a testament to a photojournalist's strong work ethic," Simmons said.
