NPPA Regional Leadership Voting Opens, November's Winners Announced

 

DURHAM, NC (December 15, 2009) – Online elections to select Regional Chairs in NPPA's Regions 1, 3, and 9 began today and will run through the next 30 days, NPPA national secretary Denise McGill announced.

In Region 1, Don Himsel is running unopposed for Chair, and John Walker is running unopposed for Associate Chair.

In Region 3, Caroline Couig is running unopposed for Associate Chair.

And in Region 9, Brad Boner and Bruce Thorson are running for Chair.

McGill says positions are open still in Regions 5, 7, and 9 and to nominate someone to run for a Regional Leadership position contact that Region's current chair.

Beginning in January, Region 8 Chair Kevin Martin will become the Regional Chair Representative on NPPA's Executive Committee, serving as a liaison between the Regions and NPPA's national board of directors.

Nominations for even-numbered Regional Leaders will begin in April 2010, and elections for even-numbered Regions will be held in November 2010, McGill said.

Winners in NPPA's online election in November were Ted Van Pelt for Region 3 Chair; Merry Murray for Region 7 Chair; and TJ Mullinax for Region 11 Chair and Wes Paz for Associate Chair. These winners assume their offices beginning January 1, 2010, and serve two-year terms.
