New York Photographers' Evening To Benefit Haiti Relief
NEW YORK, NY (March 4, 2010) – The New York Press Photographers Association will present an evening titled "Help For Haiti" on March 16 at the Eldridge Street Museum in New York.
The special event will benefit Doctors Without Borders and the people of Haiti, NPPA Region 2 director Todd Maisel said.
Photographers from The New York Times, Reuters, Getty Images, the New York Daily News, Polaris Images, the New York Post, New York Newsday, and others will present their work and talk about their experiences covering Port-au-Prince after the city's deadly earthquake.
Scheduled to appear are Damon Winter, Timothy Fadek, Shannon Stapleton, Michael Appleton, Mario Tama, Chris Hondros, Craig Warga, Matthew McDermott, Bill Farrington, Robert Stolarik, Charles Eckert, Mark Dye, and Maisel.
Peter Turnley, who was covering Haiti for Corbis, has also joined the line-up of speakers along with Ramin Talaie and Craig Ruttle, Maisel said today.
Donations are tax deductible and receipts will be provided, Maisel said.
