Biographical Statement	I have been a news photographer for the past 20 years and have been an NPPA member since 1995. Since 1997, I have mentored about a dozen photographers from smaller markets (mostly in Texas, but there have been a couple from other states, as well). I feel, based on both what they have told me and the improvement in their work that I've seen myself, that I've been able to help all of them improve their skills to some degree or another. In addition, I've also taken part in several photography/editing/storytelling workshops, both by myself and as part of a larger group of presenters. I enjoy working with younger/less experienced photographers because their enthusiasm for the craft helps me to maintain my enthusiasm, too.
