| Biographical Statement | As a youngster, H. Rick Bamman was levitated by master illusionist Jack Gwynne during a stage show in Chicago. He received his first camera at the age of 10 and began photographing convention shows for The International Brotherhood of Magicians two years later, with his work appearing in the Linking Ring magazine. Bamman was named Photo Editor for the Northwest Herald and Shaw Suburban Media in 2009. In high school his first published picture was in the hometown paper that he oversaw for 16 years as photo editor. The Pioneer Press a chain of 52 "hometown" papers serving the Chicago suburbs, with a coverage area the approximate size of Rhode Island. Bamman oversaw 23 of them. His former duties have included working as a picture editor in AP's Chicago bureau, and shooting for The Daily Star in Hammond, Louisiana, The Daily Chronicle, DeKalb, Illinois, and The Daily Journal, in Wheaton, Illinois. He's been an NPPA member since 1979 and was the first chairman for the Region 5 College Clip Contest and was recently Region 5's JIB chairperson. hrickbamman.com | ||
