Monthly Clip Contest

Still Photojournalists may enter published work in the regional Monthly News Clip Contest.Winning entries are put in the running for the monthly National competition, and earn the journalist points towards the regional Photographer of the Year award.

TV Quarterly/Solo Video

The NPPA Television Quarterly Clip and Solo Video Contest is a vital function of the NPPA and provides an important service to its membership and to those who subscribe to NPPA principles. The contest stands to recognize outstanding work performed by television and online video photojournalists on a quarterly basis. The TVQCC also serves to promote, encourage, and teach the highest levels of photojournalism and ethics.

Monthly Multimedia

If you’re a photojournalist who produces multimedia for the web, then this contest is for you. The monthly multimedia contest has been structured to make entering and judging as simple as possible. You just need a working URL and a thumbnail reference photo for each entry. Judging is a breeze. You’ll have the second half of the month to view and select your top three favorites from each category.

Short Grants

The National Press Photographers Association is bringing back the community photo story through the NPPA Short Grants, with six awards of $6,000 each. The grant is designed for funding projects small enough in scale that the bulk of the work can be accomplished in two weeks or less.

Quarterly Photo Editing

The Best Use of Photography Quarterly Clip Contest is an attempt to recognize the individuals and publications that identify and encourage excellence in photojournalism and reward that work with effective usage on the pages of their publications.

Student Quarterly

The NPPA's Student Quarterly Clip Contest provides an opportunity for student members to compete against each other and showcase their work. The contest features simple online entry, multimedia categories, and live winners galleries.

Northern Short Course

The Northern Short Course Photo and Multimedia Contests, held each year in conjunction with the Northern Short Course. Deadline is January 16, 2015 Judging for the 2015 contest will take place at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism February 6-7, 2015.
