NPPA general counsel Mickey H. Osterreicher will be giving two workshops on the right to photograph and record in public this Friday at the Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar in Atlanta, Georgia.
Osterreicher says the discussion will focus on the issues that many photographers face when shooting news, documentaries, or advertising. Since incidents of harassment and intimidation by police and private security agencies against photographers occur now on an almost daily basis, Osterreicher says it’s best to learn your rights and best practices now so that you know how to avoid or handle these situations.
Part of the discussion will also include the latest developments on Copyright law and Orphan Works legislation. For more, see the Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar’s Web site here.
