Bill Chappell tells the story of how a quick snapshot by Shannon Hicks, taken as she arrived on the scene at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT, quickly went viral around the world. A volunteer firefighter as well as the associated editor of a local Newtown newspaper, Hicks responded to the police calls for help at the school in her dual roles, Chappell explains on NPR.
