Gold: Andie Rea and Ashton Eleazer of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for “The Cost of Dreams”
Multimedia: Individual Story or Essay – Standalone:
Gold: Liz Moughon of Ohio University for “Losing Kyle”
Multimedia: Group Story or Essay – Standalone:
Gold: Michelle Hanks and Deepti Asthana of Western Kentucky University for “A New Home”
Multimedia: Online Storytelling:
Gold: Carolina Photojournalism, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for “Uprooted”
Graham Dickie, of Syracuse University, was named the 74th College Photographer of the Year at the conclusion of the Still Division judging on Wednesday, October 30th.
Maranie Staab, of Syracuse University, was named the Runner-up College Photographer of the Year.
Judges for Still Division were: Alexa Keefe, Senior Photography Editor at National Geographic, formerly with U.S. News and World Report; Scott Strazzante, Pulitzer Prize-winner, former POY Newspaper Photographer of the Year, San Francisco Chronicle staff photographer; Adriana Teresa Letorney, Founder and CEO of Visura.co, co-founder of Scout Film Festival; Genaro Molina, Los Angeles Times staff photographer, formerly with The San Francisco Chronicle.
Judges for the multimedia division were: Alexandra Garcia, Emmy and Edward R. Murrow-winning Director/ Producer for The New York Times, formerly with the Washington Post; Katie Falkenburg, Independent filmmaker and photographer, Pulitzer-Prize finalist, POY and NPPA Multimedia Photographer of the Year; Nick Michael, Acting Supervising Editor for Video at NPR, Co-Founder of 1504.
