Announcing the 2022 Best of Photojournalism contest
Dec. 21, 2021 - This year the Best of Photojournalism contest adds an entirely new division — Documentary! Our hope is that this division will make a great home for the wonderful documentary video work that our members produce across so many different platforms. You can read more about the Documentary division, and the rest of the competition at the BOP website.
The full list of divisions includes Still Photography; Picture Editing; Online Video, Presentation and Innovation; Video Photojournalism; Video Editing; Documentary.
BOP is open for entries from December 20, 2021 through January 23, 2022, and this year we have a brand new, much faster, much easier submission system using Picter.
First round judging takes place remotely from January 28, 2022 to February 20, 2022. Final round judges will be announced over the coming weeks, so stay tuned!
Final round judging is scheduled to take place Feb. 25-27 at the College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. UGA is the headquarters of the NPPA.
Judging is usually open to the public, however, due to the ongoing pandemic the contest committee will be making a decision about in-person or virtual judging before Jan 1, 2022. The safety and well being of our committee chairs, student volunteers, and support at UGA are our primary concern in making this decision.
NPPA members can enter BOP for free. Non-members pay a $75 entry fee.
