DURHAM, NC (June 27, 2014) – NPPA executive director Chip Deale has announced that after a lapse of several years, an event showcasing the top winners in NPPA's annual Best of Photojournalism competition will be held again this year.
Hosted and presented by the Palm Beach Photographic Centre, the festival is scheduled for August 8-10, 2014, in West Palm Beach, FL. Included in the schedule is an exhibit of winning entries; an awards ceremony honoring recipients; and a day long program of educational forums.
If you plan to attend this free event, please contact NPPA's national office at [email protected]. The NPPA staff can provide you with details on special hotel arrangements that have been made.
Details and registration information will soon be posted on the NPPA Web site, Deale said.
The event is being held in conjunction with NPPA's board of directors meeting as well as the board of the National Press Photographers Foundation. Time permitting, the two Boards may hold a joint session, NPPA national secretary Michael P. King said.
NPPA members who may be seeking changes to the organization's bylaws, policies, procedures, programs or activities are welcome to submit resolutions to the Board for consideration via King at [email protected]. The deadline for submitting a resolution is July 24.
