In 2019, the National Press Photographers Association’s (NPPA) the Best of Photojournalism (BOP) contests will be held in its new home at the University of Georgia's Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication in Athens, Georgia. Every year, BOP attracts the most talented professionals in four divisions - still photography, video, online visual journalism, and editing - collectively consisting of nearly 100 categories.
“With this stellar magazine, unparalleled press freedom advocacy, and now this premier contest, it is clear that you simply get more by being an NPPA member,” NPPA President Michael P. King said. “There is no better way to be a visual journalist and be connected in the industry.”
It makes you feel good, for one. And any amount helps aid the continuation of important work being done for the advancement of photojournalism through education, scholarships and fellowships.
Several options are available. You can choose to support the NPPA's legal advocacy issues, which include First Amendment issues, copyright or unlawful assault on visual journalists.
The National Press Photographers Foundation (NPPF) is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization. Your tax-deductible donation will help aid the continuation of important work being done by the NPPA and the NPPF for the advancement of photojournalism through education, scholarships and fellowships. The NPPA is a 501(c)6 and professional membership dues may be a tax deductible item. A tax specialist will be able to discern qualification.
Whatever your decision, we sincerely appreciate your support during this holiday season.
