Best of Photojournalism | 2.22.20

NPPA 2020 Best of Photojournalism first-round judges announced

First-round judges – 133 total – for NPPA’s Best of Photojournalism Contest are currently evaluating the thousands of entries received for the 2020 contest. These judges, working online, will rank each entry on a 1-10 scale, later allowing the Division Chairs to assign a minimum qualifying score for the final round, narrowing down categories with massive amounts of entries to a more manageable number.

In keeping with our educational mandate, this process allows the final round, on-site judges to spend time in deep discussions about the best entries and eventual award winners.

The final round of judging will be held February 28 through March 1, 2020, at the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia in Athens. The judging is open to the public and the final results will be announced after all the judging has been completed.
