LENS is the photography blog of The New York Times, presenting the finest and most interesting visual and multimedia reporting — photographs, videos and slide shows. A showcase for Times photographers, it also seeks to highlight the best work of other newspapers, magazines and news and picture agencies; in print, in books, in galleries, in museums and on the Web.

DURHAM, NC (June 16, 2014) – For his final installment of NPPA's Photo Journal, veteran photography editor Jim Colton interviewed The New York Times photographers and bloggers James Estrin and David Gonzalez, the "co-captains" of LENS, the Times's wide-reaching online photography blog.

In this NPPA Photo Journal, Estrin and Gonzalez discuss their collaboration and collaborators, photographers you should know (but don't), and cutting through the noise of online imagery – the "edited versus unedited; context versus chaos."

NPPA's Photo Journal "The New York Times & LENS" begins online here.
