NPPA Welcomes New Part-Time Office Assistant

ATHENS, GA (May 30, 2016) - The National Press Photographer’s Association welcomed a new part-time office assistant this week in its national headquarters at the University of Georgia’s Henry W. Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication in Athens.

Mikaela Canty is a rising junior at UGA and is earning a degree in management with a certificate in supply chain operations.

Canty will provide NPPA with support in a wide range of activities and will help ensure that members and other constituents consistently receive high-quality customer service, according to Executive Director Akili Ramsess.

“Her project management and organizational skills are impressive and we look forward to her applying those skills to the benefit of NPPA,” Ramsess said.

Canty said she has a knack for project management and wants to gain experience in running an office.

“Along with her efficient skills, her warm and bubbly personality will make your contact with our office a pleasant experience,” Ramsess said.

Canty said she is excited to begin working with NPPA and its dynamic staff.

“I’ve never worked for a company that was so broad across the United States,” she said, “so it's amazing to be able to work alongside people who are from so many different places and they have so many different backgrounds, and they have much to offer.”
