DURHAM, NC (January 9, 2014) – The lone-photojournalist business model is growing harder and harder to sustain. While not new, the photography collective or cooperative business model is enjoying a revival of sorts. New groups of like-minded photographers are joining together to market their work, seek assignments, and support each other creatively. Janet Smith spoke with Ed Kashi (VII), Greg Kahn (Grain Images), and Matt Slaby (Luceo) about the current landscape of photojournalism collectives and the benefits they deliver members.
