DURHAM, NC (April 17, 2013) – In the latest installment of NPPA's Photo Journal, Jim Colton takes a two-part look at the Memphis Commercial-Appeal and filmmaker Alan Spearman.
In Part One he interviews John Sale, the assistant managing editor for visuals, about connecting readers to the world through local hooks into national and international stories.
In Part Two, which will be published on Thursday, Colton will talk with photojournalist and filmmaker Alan Spearman about shooting video, his recent award-winning project "Memphis Poverty: What Obama Didn't See" which includes the short film "As I Am," and the shift it took in his mindset to do it so well.
