Ken Hawkins is a photojournalist who has covered politics, conflict zones and disasters since 1970 working globally for publications and agencies such as TIME, Sports Illustrated, Fortune, SYGMA, Paris Match, Stern, OGGI, Newsweek and Wired and the BBC. Since 2011 he has specialized in the area of sports photography and is represented by ZUMAPress.
Ken’s passion for photojournalism extends to his www.52Selects.com – a web gallery and ecommerce site showcasing the works of some of the best photojournalists working today.
He currently serves on the boards of several nonprofit agencies relating to issues of the arts, social action and photojournalism. He is a founder of The Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar and served the organization for 30 years. Ken has also served as the Atlanta/SE chapter president of the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP) and has served on ASMP’s national board, it’s executive committee and as it’s national secretary.
