I am a full-time, indie photojournalist based out of Pensacola, Florida. I graduated from Hofstra University.
I am available for stringer work and assignments.
I am looking for a few long term photo essays for 2018 that will challenge me.
I am a digital nomad / backpack photojournalist.
I love working with vintage cameras from the 1950's and film.
I still love a silver gelatin print !
I have over 12 years experience working as a staffer on a daily newspaper in North Carolina. I left the industry to care for my mom after her stroke. The industry sure has changed quite a bit since then. I have spent the last 5 years as a homemaker and at 57 years of age I want to reenter the job market full time. The wanderlust bug has bitten me once again and I love to travel off the beaten path in this great country.
There are so many important things going on now that need to be covered by more than a citizen journalist. I feel the pendulum is starting to swing back and we need experienced storytellers out there on the front lines. It is tough for this baby boomer to keep up with the social media revolution but what I lack in nimble fingers typing on a cell phone keyboard I make up for in soft skills, thick skin and experience.
I am looking for 3 to 5 major stories I can cover in-depth. Long term photo essays will be my focus for 2018. I can photograph it digitally or on film. If you know any journos looking to collaborate, please send them my way! Thanks !
