Photojournalist, Allred Photography
Jeffrey Allred has spent 27 years as a photojournalist for the Deseret News and the Salt Lake Tribune. He also is freelancer for the NY Times and USA Today. Some of his recent stories of note include a year long project covering a 3-year-old cancer victim, the Haiti earthquake, Sugar and Fiesta Bowls, a Mexican immigration series, Hurricane Katrina and Rita, and the Salt Lake City Olympics. Some of Allred's awards include Society of Professional Journalists Top of the Rockies Brylee's Wings, Haiti Spot News coverage and Associated Press UIS Photographer of the Year. Allred also won the Photo of the Year by the Associated Press Managing Editors for a photograph of troops deploying to Iraq.
Allred has a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from Utah State University and teaches photojournalism at Brigham Young University.
