Freelance Photojournalist, Dennis Drenner Photographs
In college, photography seduced Dennis away from a respectable life in science and he has been a photographer ever since. Initially working for newspapers and magazines, he now does frequent corporate, non-profit and education work. He has been based in the Baltimore/Washington, DC corridor for the past 20 years, with extended forays to live in places like Colombia, Pakistan and Germany.
Dennis' work has won awards in the national POY (Pictures of the Year) competition, three Maryland State Arts Council Grants, an Arthur Burns Fellowship to work at the German magazine Stern, a Fulbright Fellowship to photograph in Pakistan and another Fulbright to teach photography in Cambodia. His clients include the Washington Post, New York Times, American Red Cross, Der Spiegel (Germany), Tufts University and Occidental College.
He lives in Baltimore city with his Colombian wife Karen and their Spanglish-speaking Irish Setter Davinci.
