Alvin Jornada is currently a staff photojournalist at The Press Democrat newspaper in Santa Rosa, California. His experience includes covering northern California wildfires, documenting social issues such as homelessness, as well as high school and college sports. Previously, he worked as a freelance photographer contributing to the European Pressphoto Agency, San Francisco Chronicle and a variety of editorial and commercial clients. In 2014, Alvin was part of the NPPA award-winning picture editing team at the San Francisco Chronicle.

His photographs have appeared in The New York Times; Washington Post; Los Angeles Times; San Francisco Chronicle; TIME NewsFeed; MSNBC News; The Press Democrat; Sacramento Bee; New Jersey Star-Ledger; NRC Handelsblad (Netherlands); The Daily Mail (U.K.); Der Standard (Austria); Focus (Germany); Wine Spectator; Sonoma Magazine; and numerous other international media publications.
