Jabin Botsford is a photojournalism and sociology student at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Ky. He is a staff photographer at WKU’s student-run newspaper, the College Heights Herald. He interned in the summer of 2012 at The Washington Post through a stipend from the Scripps Howard Foundation, and in the summer of 2013 he will be interning for The New York Times in New York. Jabin was a still photography participant at the 2012 Mountain Workshops and photo editing participant at the 2011 Mountain Workshops. He has been recognized by the College Photographer of the Year, The William Randolph Hearst Photojournalism Award program, the Associated Collegiate Press, the National Press Photographers Association, the Kentucky News Photographers Association, and SportsShooter.com. His images and multimedia have been published in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, The Seattle Times, AARP, Getty Images, ZUMA Press and numerous other publications throughout the country.
Most recently Jabin was named Runner-up College Photographer of the Year with a Silver award in the Portfolio category by College Photographer of the Year, Student Photographer of the year by the Kentucky News Photographer’s Association, and Rich Mahan Best Student Portfolio by the Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar. He has also recently been selected to be a student at The Eddie Adams Workshop XXVI.
