I was born and raised in a small town in the high desert of Southern California. I graduated with a degree in religious studies and moved to Hawaii to work teaching at a private elementary school. While there teaching, I bought my first camera and discovered the power of visual communication. I quickly learned to work a camera and soon fell in love with the idea of photography. It was then I decided to go back to school and study at RIT where I received a Bachelor in Fine Arts.
Although I was in the photojournalism program, I was exposed to a variety of photography. Including portraiture and editorial illustration, as well as small multimedia projects to long form documentary story-telling.
Most recently, I worked at California State University of Long Beach in greater Los Angeles. Here, I am responsible for all campus related photography, including the production and art direction of four magazines with a circulation of 170,000, as well as motion for digital subscriptions. Recently, I proposed a model for web-based interactive story-telling and shot the pilot for, it was the shared and viewed project in the history of the university and has been applauded by various universities and NGO's. I have posted a link below.
