Montana native Lisa Kunkel is a professionally disciplined, award winning and experienced photojournalist living in the Bighorn Basin of northwestern Wyoming. A graduate of the University of Montana’s School of Journalism, she continues to focus her desire to document life the way she sees it. Lisa has worked as a staff photographer and contributor for local and national publications. Including The Missoulian, The Montana Standard and The Independent Record. Her work has been published in Sports Illustrated, TIME Magazine, USA Today and Montana Magazine. She has also studied photography abroad through Syracuse University in London, England and was a summer fellow at the Poynter Institute in Florida. Lisa’s photography has been recognized by the Alexia Foundation, College Photographer of the Year Awards, Eddie Adams Workshop, Photo District News, The Hearst Foundation, The Wyoming Press Association, The Montana Newspaper Association, The Associated Press and the National Press Photographers Association. Lisa enjoys the outdoors and thanks God every day for her wonderful husband J.D. and their children Adeline, Wyatt and Amelia.
