After starting out as a reporter and editor in Anderson, Greenville and Columbia, South Carolina, Tom Priddy helped develop PressLink into a major online news service in the 1990s. He was a pioneer in digital photography, supervising groundbreaking digital photography projects with Kodak and Nikon, including coordinating the very first worldwide online distribution of digital news images (from the 1991 Super Bowl).
During a 25-year career with Knight Ridder, he also was assistant systems manager of the Knight Ridder/Tribune Information Services in Washington, and helped build and managed several websites for KRT, including KRT Direct and KRT Campus.
As a freelancer, he has been photographing Minor League Baseball for more than 18 years. His work appears in Baseball America, and he has been published in Sports Illustrated and ESPN Magazine, among others. His photographs have appeared on dozens of minor league baseball cards, including those of Topps and Bowman.
He and his wife live in South Carolina where his day job is Assistant Managing Editor, Digital, for GoUpstate.com, the website of the Spartanburg Herald-Journal.
