I am a freelance photographer specializing in documentary, portraiture and editorial photography, currently based in Long Island New York.
For as long as I can remember I have always had a fascination with cameras, films, photographs and art. This led me to study Cinematography in the department of Motion Pictures and Television at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco from 2001-2005. While working at Brooks Cameras in the financial district of San Francisco my interests turned more towards documentary photography and film making and I began to practice photography as a hobby. A few years later I re-located to southern California for an opportunity to work at the Museum of Photographic Arts in Balboa Park where inspiration and education were both plentiful.
In the fall of 2010 I completed an internship with VII Photo Agency in Brooklyn, and shortly after began to freelance for the Long Island daily newspaper "Newsday". I have been with them ever since shooting features and daily news stories, continuing to grow and learn more each day. My current goals include continuing to work with Newsday while simultaneously pursuing personal documentary work in my community and abroad in an effort to improve my portfolio and gain more experience.
