Tokyo , Tokyo , Japan

David Woo grew up in the suburbs just outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he often found himself immersed in a range of diverse cultural activities. This later fueled his desire to travel, write, and document; taking him throughout Asia during his university. Meeting with locals whose different lifestyles as well as cultures had an incredible impact on him, and inspired him to share their stories through the lens. His love for traveling and storytelling became instrumental in his decision to become an artist, volunteer, and visual journalist. His documentary, commercial, and editorial work has been published in magazines as well as online news outlets like The Japan Times, CNN, and Metropolis, among many others. He has worked with numerous clients and establishments such as Tokyo’s Pechakucha, Tokyo Designers Week, the World Children’s Baseball Fair (WCBF), The Sikh Coalition, TEDx, and many more. Currently, David Woo resides in Tokyo, Japan, as a freelance photographer, videographer, journalist, core volunteer with the Japanese non-profit organization — Living Dreams and a member of the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA).
