I am a photojournalist, specializing in conceptual portraiture in my work. Now, the next chapter of life, my clients include Getty Images, AARP, The Associated Press, AP Images, Tulsa World, and family portraits. The images are driven by a fresh, creative perspective and passion for capturing extra-ordinary movements. The results - photos that have visual impact and lasting memories.
I have, also, worked at The Oklahoman and Baltimore Sunpapers. My freelance clients have included John Hopkins Health Systems & University, University of Maryland health systems, Villa Julie College, Wat Miami Temple, New York Times, USA Today, Chronicles for Higher Education, Dallas Morning News, Wall Street Journal, Sports Illustrated, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Southern Poverty Law Center, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, St. Anthony's Hospital systems, Oklahoma City Native American Museum & Native American Diabetes Project.
Awards have included a Eisenstadt Award for Magazine Photography, three Pulitzer nominations, Overseas Press Association, Association of Black Media Workers, Native American Journalists Association, National Headliners Awards, Sigma Delta Chi, POYi and National Press Photographers Association POY. My work for non-profit organizations has earned me CASE awards.
I taught photojournalism at the University of Oklahoma and worked with students in the Associated Press' Diverse Visions workshop and the Native American Journalists conferences.
