Jessica A. Suarez
photographer & filmmaker, Jessica Suarez Photography
Hi, I'm Jess.
I tell stories with pictures and video. I have a soft spot for non-profits and collaborative work. I'm most passionate about women's issues, particularly maternal health. I try hard to bring a grounded presence, creative problem-solving and empathetic listening to every set of images or film I create.
Lately, I have been working on conservation projects in the Peruvian Amazon where every day is an adventure and I get to learn something new from the rainforest. However, I just landed in Atlanta again for the summer and look forward to working on projects in my hometown.
I have a master's degree in Multimedia, Photography and Design from S.I. Newhouse School of Communications in Syracuse, New York and a bachelor's degree in Cultural Anthropology from Colby College in Waterville, Maine. I have been taking pictures professionally since 2009.
When I'm making images, I can usually found in the woods hiking or in the kitchen baking.
Past clients include The New York Times, The American Legion, The Lerner Center - Syracuse University, Amazon Conservation Association and The School for Field Studies.
