I'm a freelance and staff photojournalist living in Los Angeles. I graduated from Central Washington University in June 2012 with BA's in Spanish and journalism.
After graduation, I moved to Los Angeles to pursue my photojournalistic dreams. After an internship at the Huffington Post, I quickly realized that writing news stories in front of a laptop eight hours a day was not for me, and I longed to be back in the field, capturing breaking news with my camera.
I work as a staff photographer at the Santa Clarita Valley Signal, expanding my body of work with high school and college sports, breaking news, features, and writing the occasional breaking news or feature story. The Signal is nearly 100 years old, and with a circulation of 12,000, it serves the communities of Valencia, Stevenson Ranch, Newhall, Canyon Country, Saugus, Castaic, Agua Dulce, and Acton, just about 30 miles north of Los Angeles.
I'm available for all sorts of freelance work, especially in sports. My background in college athletics gives me an edge to photographing sports, and interacting with athletes that only a fellow athlete can accomplish.
