Photographer and Owner, Samantha Kaplan Photography
I am an aspiring documentary photographer and photojournalist currently finishing my undergrad career at Tulane University in New Orleans. I will be receiving two BAs in International Development and African & African Diaspora Studies. These fields of study have shaped my interests with regards to my photography which I have been doing as a hobby since I was 15. It has continued to be an overwhelming passion of mine and I love that I can combine so many of my interests in a visually artistic way.
I also love to travel, primarily as a result of having lived abroad when I was younger in France for several years. I have spent considerable time in East Africa as well as Ghana, South Africa, Namibia and Tunisia where I studied abroad Spring semester of my junior year. I speak French and Spanish as well as some Arabic in an academic capacity.
In the Fall of 2013 I will be starting a one year certificate program at the International Center of Photography in NYC in photojournalism and documentary photography.
I constantly strive to learn and perfect my craft and I am always open to constructive criticism.
