Management Seminar for Visual Editors

July 25-26, 2015 || Athens, GA || If your career goals include moving into a management position or if you’re currently in management and want to enhance your effectiveness, then this new program is ideal. Jointly sponsored by NPPA and the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication, the two-day seminar will cost-effectively provide the insights and guidance you need to excel at team leadership, management, human resource and financial issues. The 10 hours of program content will be a mixture of presentations, interactive dialogue and practice exercises.

Women in Photojournalism: A New Perspective

August 15, 2015 - Denver - The National Press Photographers Association announces the return of the Women in Photojournalism conference. After a six year break, the conference entitled "A New Perspective" will be held in Denver on August 15, 2015. The all-female faculty includes Emmy, national Edward R. Murrow, and Pulitzer Prize winners. Sessions will have something for all visual journalists, from television reporters, to experts at online video, to print photojournalists.

Multimedia Immersion Workshop

May 17-21, 2016 || Syracuse, NY || Our Multimedia Immersion is an intense, five-day, hands-on training workshop for visual journalists looking to expand and grow their multimedia skills using the latest technology. Our focus is on mixing photos, video and audio content and editing them into multimedia presentations.

Northwest Storytelling Workshop

Two days of great visual storytelling education on June 5 and 6 in Seattle, Washington. We will emphasize video storytelling under deadline, but there will also be examples of long-form in-depth and feature storytelling. Our faculty includes John Larson, Lisa Berglund, John Sharify, Kurt Austin, Anne Herbst, Matthew Pearl, Matt Mrozinski, Lane Michaelsen and Joe Fryer. Attendees will have one-on-one critiques with the speakers!
